🌳 The path to a net-zero future
For the world to reach net-zero by 2050, we will require nothing short of a complete transformation of the global economic system.

Today's OneChart
Today’s chart is nothing new. You might have seen different versions of it in the past.
But I find it to be a great reminder of how significant the challenge of decarbonizing the global economy will be.
To be fully transparent, with my business Research+Attitude, I directly contributed to creating this chart.

What does the chart show?
For the world to reach net-zero by 2050 in line with the Paris Climate Agreement, we will require nothing short of a complete transformation of the global economic system.
- This means uprooting and redefining the ways we conduct business and handle affairs.
- Incremental innovation simply won’t cut it.
Instead, it is imperative that we take a radical approach to technology and use it as a means to change the world for the better.
- Big picture thinking and leaps of faith are required to achieve a net-zero future.
- Without this, we are simply doomed to climate catastrophe.
By the way, my client Climatiq offers a vital solution to get there. Climatiq provides “Embedded Carbon Intelligence” to companies so they can consider climate metrics at the time of decision-making (and not afterward).
This is important as net-zero goals need to be considered at every stage of the process and factored heavily into the choices that businesses make. Learn more here.
